Redmi 9 Power : The POWER Packed budget phone
Xiaomi India, brings in another Redmi series phone under the Redmi 9 series, named Redmi 9 Power. Well, power here means more battery for sure, because it’s 6000 mAh massive battery. For further details and specifications of the phone, let’s break it into parts.
1.Design
Starting with the design, the Redmi 9 power seems to look different than the other phones in the Redmi 9 series. With the massive battery, comes along a bit baggage, yes it’s a bit heavy at 198g. It has a plastic back which is totally acceptable at this price point, and due to the textured finish at the back, fingerprints are not an issue. It also has a big Redmi branding at the back, which is we guess is going to be the Redmi’s choice on it’s upcoming smartphones too, going by the trend of course. There are two speakers one at top and one at bottom for stereo sound. IR blaster and 3.5 mm headphone jack on the top and type C port at the bottom sums up the design, along with the fingerprint scanner put into the power button on the right.
2.Display
The display has dewdrop notch design, like the other Redmi phones. It is 6.53” IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution. Due to the notch design, it has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with 1080 x 2340 pixels resulting in the 395 ppi density. On the protection front, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
3.Processor & Storage
The Power phone has got Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 chipset based on 11nm architecture in it. It is an octa-core CPU and to complement it has an Adreno 610 GPU. The phone comes with two storage options, 64 GB and 128 GB. But the RAM sticks to 4 GB in both cases.
4.Cameras
The Power has a quad camera setup at the rear. 48 MP being the main camera among them all. The Ultra Wide one is a 8 MP camera. The macro camera and the depth camera have 2 MP. The camera setup supports HDR which is good at this price point. The video can be shot at a maximum of 1080p at 30 fps. The front facing camera on the hand is Wide angle camera of 8 MP with 1.12µm pixel size.
5.Battery
The power of this “POWER” phone comes through the massive 6000 mAh battery. Well, this battery can easily last you 2 days of moderate use. The charging speed that this power monster supports is 18W, but the company throws in a 22.5 W charger in the box, well we are not sure of why is that so.
